Deep River Fire Department is a Volunteer Department staffed by 2 personnel Monday-Friday 7 a.m-6 p.m, relying on volunteers 24/7 365. Our services simply could not be provided without our volunteer members. Volunteering is an exciting and rewarding option to give back to your community, meet new friends, gain incredible skills and experiences.
No experience is necessary, we provide you with access to training to become a certified emergency responder. We provide training in structural fire, brush fire, emergency medical response, hazardous materials, and technical rescue. We provide you with all the necessary equipment and tools. We understand everyone has obligations in life and we are flexible and understanding of other commitments.
As a member of the Deep River Fire Department, you have the opportunity to respond to a variety of emergencies.

Complete the volunteer application form below. One of our Recruiters will be in touch after an application is received.

Obtain a Certified copy of your NC Motor Vehicle Record and Criminal Background(DRFD will reimburse you for the cost)

Provide a copy of your current, valid driver's license.
Return the NC MVR and Criminal Background documents in one of the following ways:

Once your application is received it will be reviewed. If approved, you will be contacted for the next steps to get you involved in the organization and start your journey developing into one of the nation's premier emergency responders.
