Becoming a Member

Did you know over 80% of all fire protection in the US is provided by volunteers???

 

Deep River Fire Department is a Volunteer Department staffed by 2 personnel Monday-Friday 7 a.m-6 p.m, relying on volunteers 24/7 365. Our services simply could not be provided without our volunteer members. Volunteering is an exciting and rewarding option to give back to your community, meet new friends, gain incredible skills and experiences.

 

No experience is necessary, we provide you with access to training to become a certified emergency responder. We provide training in structural fire, brush fire, emergency medical response, hazardous materials, and technical rescue. We provide you with all the necessary equipment and tools. We understand everyone has obligations in life and we are flexible and understanding of other commitments.

 

As a member of the Deep River Fire Department, you have the opportunity to respond to a variety of emergencies.

If you have heard enough and can't wait to start the application process here are the steps:

  1. Complete the volunteer application form below. One of our Recruiters will be in touch after an application is received.

  2. Obtain a Certified copy of your NC Motor Vehicle Record and Criminal Background(DRFD will reimburse you for the cost)
